Belbazar – Mobile Application for a Fashion Marketplace

About Project
Belbazar.by is a Belarusian marketplace of local clothing brands, with a focus on women’s fashion.
By the time they approached us, the company had a stable website with its own architecture and an in-house developer who maintained the API.
The next step in development was creating a mobile application to expand sales channels and make shopping more convenient for users.
Market Insights
The Belarusian fashion market is actively shifting toward marketplaces: users increasingly choose mobile applications for shopping, and local brands strive to unite under one trusted umbrella brand.
However, unlike major players such as Lamoda or Wildberries, local platforms focus on high–quality assortments, intuitive UX, and an individual approach.
Belbazar occupied exactly this niche: a marketplace that remains “familiar” - understandable, local, and close in spirit to brands and customers.
Launching the mobile application became a step toward forming a stronger connection between the user and the local manufacturer.

How We Met
We met Belbazar when the project already existed as a strong e-commerce platform with a loyal audience. The team was looking for developers who could quickly and seamlessly translate the website into a mobile format while preserving the logic and stability of the current system.
They came to us after becoming familiar with our projects in the same industry, including fh.by - a mobile application for fashion retail where we solved similar tasks. This immediately created trust: we spoke the same language and understood the specifics of fashion e-commerce.

Why They Chose Us
Belbazar did not choose based on price or deadlines — the project was developing thoughtfully, with a focus on quality.
The key factors were relevant expertise in mobile application development and a proactive team: we did not simply take the technical specification but proposed a step-by-step plan that considered marketplace UX patterns and the specifics of the existing API.
The client appreciated that we did not try to sell a complex solution but offered simple architecture, clear timelines, and careful integration.

What the Client Came With
- A functional website and a reliable in-house developer ready to support the API.
- No mobile application despite growing mobile traffic.
- A request for a proactive team capable of quickly bringing a solution to market.
Solution
We proposed a two-stage workflow:
- Development of user scenarios, prototypes, business analysis.
- Development of user scenarios, prototypes, business analysis. Design, development, testing, and launch.
The interface is based on e-commerce patterns familiar to users:
- a home page with selections and weekly brands;
- a product catalog with filters and categories;
- product cards with photos, descriptions, and recommendations;
- favorites and cart;
- simple checkout.

Among UX solutions, the client especially highlighted the screen loading speed and the clear catalog structure — the application turned out light and responsive.
Product Features
- The application does not require separate backend management - we integrated with the client’s API.
- Simple architecture ensures reliability and easy scaling.
- Basic product customization was implemented for a limited assortment.
Purchase Process
Belbazar.by operates without built-in online payments. The order is placed in the application, after which an operator contacts the customer for confirmation. Payment is made cash-on-delivery or via a link to an external payment service.
According to the project owner:
“payment is implemented conveniently — through personal account tools of payment services, and we do not plan to introduce other methods yet.”

Result
- The application was installed by 37,500 users.
- Users are satisfied with convenience, design, and performance: “from the customers’ side, only positive feedback — usability, design, speed; no complaints.”
- Some orders shifted from the mobile website to the application, confirming audience interest in the mobile format.

The essence of the project
Belbazar is an example of how to launch a strong mobile product without unnecessary complexity.
Simple architecture, thoughtful UX, and close collaboration with the client’s internal team made the application stable and convenient for users.
Today it has become a natural extension of the brand — not just a sales channel but a part of the Belbazar user experience, which we are happy to help develop in the future so the client can influence the number of orders, customer retention, and clearly see how their investments in development are paying off.
